Description
Giclée reproduction on stretched gallery-wrap canvas framed in "floating" whitewashed wooden frame to expose the gallery wrap. Canvas size is 16"H x 12"W. My frames add 3" to the height/width dimensions of the canvas size. Framed dimensions are 19" H x 15" W. Dimensions noted below are for the shipping crate if shipping via FedEx. The son of a good friend in Rockport, TX spends every available moment on or in the water fishing. He proudly posed for a friend with the "Grand Slam" - a redfish, a flounder and a speckled trout. This is one of my most beloved paintings - it was also selected as the poster image for the Three Rivers Art Festival in Covington, LA. It seems to evoke a special memory of another person who loved to fish in everyone who sees it.

I paint in studio with oils on canvas from photographs I take as I travel the coastal South. I have such wonderful memories of growing up at the beach on the Bolivar Peninsula that I am particularly drawn to paint coastal birds, boats and landscapes near the shore. I was born and raised in Beaumont, TX and graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from our hometown university, Lamar University. After a career in advertising, I returned to my first love - painting.
