Description
Delicate , translucent leaves with a subtle shimmer in jewel-like greens, run the length of this mixed media necklace, crocheted from very fine, bronze/brass toned copper wire. The matching earrings mirror the leafy vine of the necklace, on a smaller scale. Each leaf was separately crafted using a hand-tinted, abaca fiber wet process (used for crafting handmade paper) that I adapted specifically for jewelry making. The leaves are glazed to give them a glass-like finish. This jewelry set is very dimensional and whisper light. The length of the necklace is 18 inches, including the antique brass lobster claw clasp. Leaves range from about 1/2 to 3/4 inch in length. The earrings are about 2 inches long with antique brass toned, nickel-free earring wires.

Gossamer Tangles is an outgrowth of my life-long love of crochet and needle arts. The jewelry I design and make is one-of-a-kind. I find that conceiving a design in my mind and then bringing it to life between my fingers, instills a remarkable mix of wonder, excitement and satisfaction.
