Goldilocks

Ahh…The Little Fatty is one of my most beloved styles of book! These little gems are tiny but powerful! The leather I use is Italian upholstery leather which is gorgeous AND very thin, so it must be wrapped around a thicker leather and then lined with a third layer of thin suede. Then finally all 3 layers are riveted together with copper rivets. They’re precious if I do say so myself. This book is 3.5”×3.5”, and has 200 pages of our eco-friendly bamboo paper which is lovely to write or sketch on with any type of pen, and is also great with pencils or charcoal. The paper is acid-free and ideal for mounting photos and memorabilia. This book has an antique icebox hinge closure, which makes it very unique. I cut a sliver out of the hinge to turn it into a hasp/clasp. These hinges date back to the late 1800’s to early 1900’s when iceboxes were quite common. The padlocks that I use are antiques from India (American padlocks of the same era have a much more industrial look…India made them with a bit more flair) , and all of them come with a beautiful key attached. These are actual working locks, and yet I recommend that you treat them more as decoration because of their age.
