"Golden Shore" (Point Reyes National Seashore) Fine Art Archival Print

I backpacked to this secluded beach along the gorgeously rugged coast of Point Reyes National Seashore, just north of San Francisco, and stood alone watching as golden hues ushered yet another day to night. The ocean, and even its shoreline, remains an unknown frontier to me. I've explored and become familiar with other landscapes- the great southwestern deserts, various mountain ranges, the plains and woodlands of the Midwest. I've learned to exist within them, what to expect, where their borders and my limits lie. The ocean remains a mystery though, in ways I can't quite put into words, which both fascinates and haunts me. It's an expanse of the unknown at the end of familiar ground, with power and beauty too great for a lone person to comprehend. So I return, to crashing waves and through more sunsets as my own days turn golden; unsure if such understanding will ever come. This work is part of my Collector's Special Edition series, with production limited to 28 large format pieces in total.
