Using different types of salvaged hardwoods from South Florida, these cherries are turn in a lathe. I hand carve the final expression details and then paint them with oil base colors. I finish them with several layers of clear lacquer. Aluminum base.
Using different types of salvaged hardwoods, I begin with a chainsaw creating a rough shape then proceeding to a lathe, I turn the piece until I achieve a symmetrical shape. Lastly, I hand carve it for the final expressive details. I use a variety of painting techniques and finish my pieces with several layers of clear lacquer until I accomplish a glossy bright coat.
