Gold Hugs & Kisses Vase

Hugs and Kisses, Green, Gold and Black Lovable Vase This vase was thrown by me on my potter’s wheel using pure English Porcelain. The vase is a perfect size all sizes of flower blooms. The large black hug and kisses graphics were painted on during the leather hard stage and then the vase was bisque fired (first firing). The vase was then glazed in a traditional Celadon, (green transparent) and fired in a gas reduction kiln. Finally, I adorned the surface using a copper gold luster with small hugs and kisses within the bigger under-glazed x’s and o’s. The vase is fired a third time to adhere the luster to the surface. This third firing adds a depth of surface that could not be obtained without the third firing. The vase is petite in size just 6 ½” tall and 4 ½” in dia. The vase holds a full 2 cups of water for those thirsty flowers. The tight neck keeps your flowers arranged and standing tall!
