Description

Lester Polfuss was the real name of Les Paul, the celebrated guitarist and inventor. He was actively involved in the design of the Gibson guitar that had his name but this is the only patent he had on any part of it. The patent relates to a trapeze bridge which is illustrated in the patent drawing fixed to an Epiphone arch top. The bridge only lasted one year before it was replaced with a fixed bridge. The guitar shown here is a gold top guitar from that period showing the original trapeze bridge and P-90 pickups.
