Future Fever

16x16 Watercolor Walnut Frame --- I love to straddle the space between realism and abstraction, but in "Future Fever" I pushed my work further into abstraction for the ultimate modern take on botanical watercolors. A bold accent in any space, this painting features two palms: a wispy white palm in the background and an energetic cool green and burnt orange palm in front. For even more contrast with textures and colors, I added a rough scribble with a sunflower yellow soft pastel. This yellow against the burnt orange pulls the viewer's eye in and then towards a matching abstract detail composition, just to its right. The effect is a piece of artwork that is unique and well-considered as well as bold and full of life. Custom framed in thin olivewood with rich warm brown striations for a deliciously modern finish. The painting is on textured watercolor paper, which is adhered to a wood panel with acid-free glue. It’s edges have torn and raw deckled edges. I used a matte spray varnish for protection against light and dust. This painting comes snugly shipped in a heavy-duty cardboard box. It’s corners are protected with cardboard and wrapped in cling wrap, then bubble wrap before being slid into the box with no room to move. I will ship this artwork via USPS.
