Watercolor
9"x12"
This project was definitely a step out of my comfort zone in a few directions; Watercolor is still a relatively new medium for me, and I’m also unfamiliar with drawing and painting things like fish and water. Overall however, I believe it was a wonderful learning experience, and I will likely use watercolor again in the future. I chose the Yaqui Catfish for a few reasons, the first being that I always thought they were beautiful and underappreciated fish, and I always loved feeding them at the docks and rivers. The second is that the yaqui catfish are actually endangered, and I thought painting it might raise some awareness. I think I got a lot out of this project, and I’m excited to use watercolor again in the future.
