Forest Rumba

Oil on Canvas. Framed in a black float frame. 30 x 36 in without frame. This painting began when I was sitting in a kayak looking at the shoreline and it reminded me of a stage and the trees were characters in the drama. The thin grey trees with their golden leaves were putting on their last big rumba before their long sleep and the tall White Pines stood aloof and stylish with their poofs of needles. The falling leaves were being sprinkled like confetti against the dark forest. You know what the Bard says, “All the worlds a stage…” Maybe the trees are players too.
