In this series I've used alcohol based inks on mylar.
Finding inspiration in the materials themselves, I experiment with the pooling and running of inks, and later an editing process to cut, shape and recompose the elements on wooden panels or plexiglass. My process is intuitive, the shapes and forms abstract.
As the compositions take shape, they may allude to a sense of place, a fleeting memory or a passing state of mind. I think of these pieces as a visual journal of moments within my mind's eye, sometimes a reflection of the Buddhist idea that thoughts and feelings emerge in our experience like passing weather in the sky of the mind.
