Photographic Artist: I have tried to present a point of view with my photographs rather than simply a record of events. I prefer high contrast and unusual perspectives in my subjects. Transmitted light adds new details and color, an unexpected kaleidoscope. I am fascinated with the macro world in the fields around us. In particular, rain and dew dazzle with jewel like brilliance and reflect the world behind them. Water, aspects of the plants around us and the creatures that inhabit the small world of the local field, the corner lot and the garden bed furnish an unlimited source of amazement for the artist, a lifetime’s opportunity for wonder. Rather than simply “illustrating what I see,” I try to capture moments of discovery and communicate them to the viewer.
