Echinocereus reichenbachii var. albispinus (Benson): A selected form of the species with plenty of debate over its name. This variety of cylindrical cactus has 10-19 ribs covered with bright, white spines. It tends to bloom in late spring with lots of fragrant, pink flowers. At maturity it can reach about 16.0" in height and 4.0" in diameter.Â
While they are not able to withstand harsh frost, they can be moved indoors to a sunny windowsill or under a grow light in the event of freezing temps.
