Dendritic Agate Sterling Silver and Copper Necklace

This necklace was made using natural dendritic agate 27x29 mm. This splendid stone was bezel set using .925 sterling silver gallery wire. The backplate has an opening were you can see detail on the inclusions that resemble the growth of roots and tree branches. The pendant is embellished with spiral and flower accents in copper and sterling silver around the stone. The pendant has been oxidized to highlight and to contrast the beautiful color on the stone. A layer of Renaissance Jewelers wax is applied to preserve the patina.The backplate is not oxidized and was polished to a matte -brushed finish. The necklace was made using flexible stringing wire along with banded agate, white jade, and 3 mm sterling beads.The necklace 17" long. The Pendant measures 2 inches long and 2 inches wide. The closure is a 12mm sterling silver lobster clasp. *Color may vary slightly due to camera flash or individual computer monitors. Entirely handcrafted by me in my studio using traditional stone setting and silversmith techniques. All items are beautifully packed in a gift box and includes a care card on how best to look after your jewelry.
