Cut and Thrust No2 #2037 with Bubinga pommel and Double Fullered Blade
THE SWORD:
Quick, deadly and elegant -- what more can we say?
The cut and thrust is the transition sword between the broad sword and the rapier during the Renaissance. In this time period, warriors still used light armor. The heft of a cut and thrust blade was needed to hack through this defense.
Do not be fooled by this heft of the blade, the sharp angle and fullers while adding to the overall balance, make this a light and agile weapon. Over-the-guard fingering grip provides control while the rings protect your index finger.
A Hollow Earth sword has weight and balance that closely approximates a metal sword. They are ideal for full-contact sparring, staged combat, teaching, learning, and practicing swordsmanship.
Each contour of our swords is individually shaped and sanded by the sword smith to create its unique form. This devotion to detail results in a superior grip, heft, and balance. This is truly art you can fight with.
THE WOOD:
Our European Long Swords are made from locally sourced solid American Hickory. Through many years of testing, we have found hickory to be the superior American hardwood for sparring weapons.
