The Cotyledon orbiculata var. oblonga is a subspecies of the Cotyledon orbiculata and is characterized by its chalky-looking, finger-like silvery-white to pale grey-green leaves. These leaves may turn a purplish hue during times of drought and stress. This evergreen succulent shrublet is known for its robust growth and can form large clumps from its ground-level branches. Its stems are robust and fleshy, reaching up to 1 meter in length and 1-2 cm in diameter. The leaves are opposite or subopposite, sessile, and usually erect, with a powdery waxy coating that helps reflect sunlight and conserve water. Its inflorescence is terminal and loosely panicled, with clusters of whitish-bloomed flowers at the end of an erect peduncle.
