Cosmic Glow Necklace in 23-Karat Gold Leaf on Tektite Stone, Onyx, Red Seed Beads, 14-Karat Gold-Filled Toggle Clasp
My Cosmic Glow pendant necklace is inspired by a dark night and a bright cosmic happening. The hand-gilded 23-karat gold on the meteorological stone called, tektite, is both handsome and unique. The small but powerful stone is tear or pear shaped, and is accompanied with smooth round and triangular black onyx along with the slight glow of red seed beads. The necklace is finished with a shiny smooth 14-Karat gold-filled toggle clasp along with my signature tag.
Measures 17" and the pendant is .75" tall and 3/4" wide.

I enjoy working with the rougher texture on the top of the tektite stone for laying the gold. The back is smooth, and feels good against the skin.
***The word tektite comes from the Greek word "tektos" which means molten. Whether the meteorite explodes in the air or upon impact, what we call tektite stone is thrown out from the explosive force.

About my Technique on Glass and Stone -
As an artist and gilder, I employ Verre Eglomisé technique, which is the art of painting and gilding precious metal leaf on the reverse side of the glass. Designs are engraved into the gold or silver leaf and then combined with glass and enamel paints on the back side of my glass bowls, table tops, and décor pieces. I also am gilding stone with gold leaf for my unique and elegant jewelry designs, and have custom commissions for special occasions such as concerts, weddings, anniversaries, and holiday gifts.
