Coral and Yellow Nordic Sweater Bud Vase

This adorable little porcelain "sweater" is sure to be treasured for years to come. Collect one or group several together! This sculptural bud vase measures 4 3/4" in width, 4" in height, with a depth of 2 1/4". My signature is on the underside of the sweater, as each piece is a complete original! I use a high-fired porcelain clay body, rendering this form very robust. The sweater is entirely hand-built using the pinch pot technique of construction. The vase features a series of patterned stripes that are achieved by applying bands of colored porcelain slips and painting geometric designs in underglaze on top of those bands. The entire vase is covered with a transparent gloss glaze...all of the decoration is permanent.
