This piece is the festival poster this year!
It is encaustic/mixed media that incorporates a vintage navigation chart as the sail that has been stitched and stained with coffee. I’ve also used leather foils, nails and a cigar box liner comprises the deck of the sailboat. The sides are blackened due to torching- a process called shousugiban.
