"Citrus Paradise #2" Acrylic Painting

- 8” x 8” Original Acrylic Painting on thick stretched canvas - Coated with a UV Protective Varnish “Citrus Paradise” is a series of acrylic paintings that celebrate the Floridian paradise in a weird and fantastical way. Rather than the typical realistic depictions of our tropical landscape through bodies of water and native animals, I chose to represent my home state in a more unusual and novel way. The vibrant vegetation in the painting take on an otherworldly, dreamlike presence. I am extremely meticulous in my paintings, which is evident from the super crisp, clean lines and edges. I want my paintings to appear almost-digitally created even though they are done entirely by hand without the aid of tape or stencils. Color is also such a guiding force in my work, and this painting is no exception. The striking opaque colors are achieved through several coats of paint - because of this and my meticulous nature, my paintings take quite a long time. All paintings are little pieces of me.
