Description
I’ve always enjoyed combining wood and metal elements in this manner. The incorporation of the metal layer in the sides gives them extra mass, which serves a particular acoustic need unique to this drum. Wenge possesses a clear, albeit quieter, voicing than most of the other face woods we use.
Handcrafted in Flagstaff, Arizona using carefully selected exotic hardwoods and metal. Face wood: Wenge / Sides: Wenge layered with aluminum.

Hardwood Music
We are a father and son team who build handcrafted melodic drums & musical furniture in a variety of beautiful exotic hardwoods sometimes combining them also with stone & metal. We utilize "open-harmonic" tunings which are designed so that anyone, regardless of skill can enjoy; from the professional musician to the novice music lover. Woods are chosen based on density, elasticity, grain configuration, silica content and appearance. Stone & metals chosen for aesthetic & acoustic properties as well. Work is hand sanded and finishes are hand-rubbed.
