Chickadee Dreams mixed media on canvas MEET THE ARTIST: Karen Segee A long-time resident of the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island in BC, Canada, Karen has always been attracted to creative expression in all of its forms. She has studied and accumulated diplomas in Fine Art, Graphic Design and Digital Media design. After a long career in graphic and web design, Karen has recently retired to devote more time to her art. With a love of pattern and influenced early on by the works of William Morris and Gustav Klimt, she utilizes her design skills and experimentation with mixed media materials to reflect both the whimsy of everyday life and the mystery of the natural world. Karen explores a variety of subjects while striving for a deeper understanding not only of the relationships between color, line, texture, and form, but also the interconnectedness between ourselves, our spirit, and this beautiful planet we inhabit.
