The plate is food-safe. It is made of sheet glass and powders; it has a spring green butterfly made from fusing glass powders on the kiln shelf then fused onto the plate. The plate is spring green, periwinkle, black/white, marigold, and red. Use it to serve crackers and cheese or even fruit. It has been handmade by me. The piece is fired in my kiln to a smooth finish. To finish the process in the kiln, the glass is cooled very slowly—annealing phase. This process makes the glass stronger. The plate comes with a metal stand for displaying it. This plate is 7mm thick. NOTE: We do not recommend washing this piece in the dishwasher—due to cold/heat variations of the dishwasher. Please hand wash.

My sister, Sue Froebel, and I have been fusing for about 10 years. However, we don't fuse full time. We usually do about 4 Art Shows a year. We are learning new fusing techniques all of the time. We are both a BOI's--born on the island-Galveston.
