A.me

A.me's work comes from a fascination with how people are all different yet are all connected. We have different colors, different personalities and different energies. Together we create unique and vibrant patterns in life. Rokoko is the collaboration of artists A.me and Mitch Alamag, established in 1983 upon graduation from the Rhode Island School of Design. Their name 'Rokoko' is derived from the Japanese word 'kokoro', which means 'of the heart'. It also is a play on the late 18th century style of art 'Rococo', which is very ornate and whimsical. They sell their work nationally at art and music festivals and to various art and craft galleries and they have been featured in many articles and in two television productions, Discovery Channel and Home & Garden.

Wife and husband work together on separate aspects of the work. A.me draws, writes and paints the imagery and Mitch builds the framework and applies patterns and finishes. My work comes from a fascination with how people are all different yet are all connected. We have different colors, different personalities and different energies. Together we create unique and vibrant patterns in life.
