The sun beats down on a parking lot in rural Colorado. I am walking to my car as I see two young white men prying open the door to a pickup truck with a crowbar.
I felt compelled to document what I had seen, partly because I had a little trouble believing it myself. I painted this piece shortly after witnessing this, from photo reference and memory.
"Broad Daylight" was part of my recent solo show, "Finding America". It was held at Headquarters Gallery in Telluride for the month of September, 2020. The work measures 20x20 inches and is professionally framed. It has a dark brown edge frame 2 inches thick. Please feel free to visit my office hours or make an appointment to chat, if you'd like more information.
I am a classically-trained oil painter. I am selling paintings and prints created during a road trip in which I traveled all across the United States. Click through my paintings to take a mini trip around the country!
