Black and White Bowl Brushed and Glazed

Thrown on my potters wheel with a white stoneware clay, this small bowl is decorated with a thick application of black slip brushed on the inside and out. The slipped surface is combed with a tool across the inside of the bowl exposing the white clay beneath. The slip applied to the outside and then dry brushed creates a more textured look. A clear glaze is applied on the inside while the outer portion is left unglazed giving a contrasting matte finish. Its size is suitable for single servings of soups, salad, or cereal. It can also be used when serving dips, snacks, or sauces. Food safe. Microwave and dishwasher safe. Hand washing recommended.
