Description
20-0103: 2020 Christmasville Limited Edition - Oil on Cedar. Those owls are monogamous, but outside breeding season males and females may roost separately, each one having about 3 favored sites in which to conceal themselves by day. As the breeding season approaches, they move back together in the vicinity of their chosen abode, usually the same year after year. When the female has lost her mate, she usually seems to manage to attract a new spouse. A single male establishes feeding territories, patrols the hunting area and perches in a lofty spot where he screeches to attract a mate.

A Bird Lady
Hello, this is my 6th year participating in Christmasville as The Bird Lady. My birds are painted in oil on various types of wood from the area. For the last 3 years I have created a limited edition series especially for Christmasville—Cardinals, Woodpeckers and now Owls. The owl’s most fascinating feature for an artist is their coloring and patterned plumage – which is why the owl was chosen as the 2020 Limited Edition bird.
