B326. Red & White Scottie & Black Beads Charm Bracelet. I made this bracelet using red & white Cracker Jack/gumball Scottie charms, & black beads. The American Kennel Club describes the Scottish Terrier as a “solidly compact dog of vivid personality . . . an independent, confident companion of high spirits . . . (with) . . . a dignified, almost-human character.” The chain is silver-tone link. The bracelet measures 8”, but can be worn shorter.

My jewelry reflects my passion for antiquing & recycling. I love working with early plastics (e.g., bakelite), found objects (e.g., vintage pinback buttons, lithograph tin, old bottle tops, transit tokens, electrical resisters, etc.), broken vintage jewelry & charms, metal (especially copper), & gemstone beads to create something fun & interesting to wear. I use a variety of techniques in my work, including cold connections, texturing, soldering, riveting, wire-wrapping, enameling, & forming. I take jewelry classes at the Des Moines Art Center, & enjoy learning & experimenting with new techniques. Each piece of jewelry I design is unique, & comes with a story that describes the history of the materials used &/or the message/meaning of the work.
