Art tile with Puppy

Framed Ceramic Art Tile with adorable Puppy makes a great dog lover gift. The framed tile is just 7.5" square, so you could add interest to a small wall or create a grouping with other wall tiles from my shop. This carved tile was handbuilt starting with a slab of clay cut to size (allowing for shrinkage to fit a 6" space). Once it had dried enough, I coated the entire surface with a black underglaze. I carved the design by removing the black, leaving the black and white detail. This process is called sgraffito. After glazing and firing, the tile was placed in a purchased black wooden frame and is ready to hang. Ask me about carving a tile with YOUR PUP.
