Description
The giant anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyl / AKA the ant bear) is an insectivorous mammal that is native to Central and South America.
The giant anteater has no teeth and is capable of only very limited jaw movement. It uses its tongue, which can reach up to 18 in, (longer than the length of the skull) and can move in and out around 160 times per minute to collect insects.
Most interesting is that the giant anteater cannot produce stomach acid of its own, but uses the formic acid of its prey for digestion.
