All things Beatles! The perfect gift for that BEATLE FAN you know! This is the larger-sized wood plaque I make, 5" x 7" which hangs on wall. Miniature versions of a Fan Club BuTTON and also a few album covers I made, and a whole lot of LYRICS using the word LOVE! After all, it was the 60's....The broken Doll is a "Frozen Charlotte." These little porcelain dolls were manufactured between 1850-1920 in Germany. They were used as playthings, in dollhouses, and even as bath toys. The smaller dolls were one-piece figurines, but the larger dolls had jointed arms & legs. During production, BROKEN DOLLS were discarded in the woods behind the factories. Now, these old and broken dolls are being dug up. The treasure hunters have to dig through a large amount of rubble and dirt to find these mostly intact dolls. They are over 100 years old!
Artist JoAnne Hunot pairs these excavated dolls with clever sayings to create fun pieces of art. The last photo up above shows her studio which is full of stuff to be made into art!

I have been collecting interesting artifacts since childhood. I LOVE old stuff! I visit flea markets and thrift stores looking for vintage items for my up-cycled art work. All of the frames, boxes, and drawers I use are re-purposed. I have been selling my work at California art shows for over 20 years.
