Alexandrite Scrollwork Ring

This amazing Alexandrite ring features a 6X6 mm lab grown Alexandrite set in a 14k gold bezel setting. The ring itself is made from oxidized sterling silver and topped with a one of a kind hand carved sterling silver scrollwork design. The high polish on the filligree scrollwork contrasts beautifully with the oxidized rough sterling silver underneath. Alexandrite is known for its stunning ability to change color under different light sources and at different angles. This particular specimen is over 1 full carat and shifts from blue to purple to pink. While Alexandrite is increasingly hard to find in nature, driving its price astronomically high, scientists have been able to replicate the natural environment in which it is formed, allowing them to grow alexandrite crystals with the exact same makeup as natural crystals. These are then facet cut like any natural stone. These lab created stones are more affordable (although still quite valuable) and typically have no visible inclusions, making them clearer and cleaner than natural alexandrite.
