"Affirmation" was the first painting I created after my son, Lucien, was born in December of 2017. I struggled connecting to him after a complicated pregnancy, and also found it challenging to recognize myself on a variety of levels after he was born. Painting something sensual was so liberating. I often refer to "Affirmation" as my aquatic phoenix painting.
