Above The Marsh waxed watercolour on wood panel MEET THE ARTIST: Alora Griffin I was born in Tofino, raised in Ucluelet and used to spend summers on Cortes Island where my great-grandparents homesteaded more than a century ago. I received a degree in Fine Arts History and a Diploma in Art Education at UBC, and taught high school art in New Zealand and Vancouver. A decade later I received a degree in Architecture and practised in Toronto, Salt Spring Island and Prince Rupert before moving to Comox 2 weeks before the pandemic shut the world down. I have recently retired and can now spend my time painting watercolours. I recently had my first solo show at the Pearl Ellis Gallery, where I also teach and volunteer. Website: aloragriffinartist.com
