A Child's Garden of Verses

This is a one-of-a-kind journal made from a discarded copy of Robert Lewis Stevenson's A Child's Garden of Verses, copyright 1931. I embellished the original cover with parts of the book's cover sheets. I bound the five signatures (groups of pages folded together) to the book cover using a woven coptic stitch, visible on the spine. The pages of the journal are marbled-gold parchment. I have hand torn each page to size it to the book cover. On some of the pages I include out-of-context quotes from the original book for use as writing or art-inspiring prompts.
