mj🪷cultivates is a homegrown Kansas City small business that started in March of 2023. Cultivating happiness through house plants is what we do. Providing plant enthusiastis & creators alike with all of their planty needs. During the pandemic, as an ICU nurse, times were difficult to say the least. Shortly before the pandemic I had started exploring plants— during the pandemic it became a passion, a therapy, a happiness— not easily found during the chaos of the pandemic. Plants & creativity helped me manage during a dark, traumatic, & isolated time. Thus, I managed to cultivate happiness through house plants— and with encouragement from friends & family I began my pursuit to share this cultivated happiness with others through mj🪷cultivates. » mj🪷cultivates focuses on curation of a variety of hand-cultivated | ornamental house plants • plant design & decor • custom soil blends • plant care essentials & accessories • plant rehabilitation & support services • event & community services • » All designs & decor pieces are made for plants, with plants, or completely out of plants & organic materials— applying cohesion between visual aesthetic and functionality for the plants & the plant parent. » Design & decor examples range in a variety of shapes, sizes, & uses but examples include but are not limited to: Living Displays, Handmade Terrariums (multiple varieties), Pygmy Potted Plants & Propagators, & Custom Decorative Planters which all are made by hand in a variety of designs, but also available for custom orders! » Hand-mixed custom soil blends, sustainable & hand-harvested worm castings for nutrient dense plant food production, & we are currently in the process of creating a variety of foliage sprays & pest control remedies. » Plant rehabilitation services & support services are available via phone or in-person.
