Creative. Experimental. Film.
Photographic Art.
Mallory Brooks is a fine art photographer based in Atlanta, Georgia. While pursuing a career in advertising, she began traveling solo with an interest in exploring cities, cultures and landscapes far different from her hometown of Tallahassee, Florida. It was during those early trips that her interest in photography started taking shape–she developed an eye for finding the beauty in ordinary scenes of everyday life.
In 2020, photography became Mallory’s full-time pursuit. Wanting to push herself and her work beyond the capabilities of a digital camera, she turned to film as her primary photographic medium, permitting her the freedom to play and experiment with its unpredictable nature. Through the use of an experimental analog technique called film soup, in which film is soaked to the point of destruction, she creates vibrant, unexpected and one of a kind photographs of familiar subjects and places.
Mallory has exhibited in group shows at Kai Lin Art and Cat Eye Creative in Atlanta; the Experimental Photo Festival in Barcelona, Spain; and art festivals across the city. She has been featured on City Lights With Lois Reitzes’ “Speaking of Art” series, in Professional Photographer magazine, and named one of Analogue Forever Magazine’s 16 Film Soup Photographers You Need to Know in 2023.
