I have always been a “maker”. I love crafts, from painting to knitting and cross-stitch, to pottery and photography. But I never knew I’d fall into making jewelry. I blame my daughter and her BFF over for a sleepover for getting bored and needing help finding something to do. I pulled out an old beading kit, and the next thing you know, they had made bracelets, created an Etsy site, and wanted my credit card so they could pay for a premium site! That took me by surprise, but I was proud of their entrepreneurial spirit, and I guess I caught their enthusiasm! I come by it honestly. My beloved Aunt was an excellent silver-smith, and made everything from jewelry to boxes to unique trinkets. She continued to work into her 90’s and I am so grateful for the things she made for me over the years for special occasions and gifts. So – now I am taking on the mantel. I don’t know that I’ll ever rise to her level, but I do work on honing my craft as often as I can. I am always adding new materials – stones, beads, settings, findings, as well as techniques and skills – and letting my imagination take me where it wants to go. I only put pieces up on my site that I think are worthy… lots of things have been broken down and put back in their place for another try in another setting or design. It’s a process, and that’s what I love about it. I am also passionate about working with customers to create unique, customized jewelry that will have sentimental value, or bring joy either as a gift to themselves, or a loved one.
