The GBM Foundation was established in January 2017 by Carly Magness Bonsignore, Ashley's daughter, and Ric Magness, Ashley's husband, following the death of Gail (Ashley) Boyter Magness. After a 22 month battle, Ashley passed away from a Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) in March of 2016. This insidious disease gave Carly and Ric insight into the current standard of care available for treatment and survival improvement. It also showed the need for additional research for promising and alternative treatments, in addition to the conventional therapies. This foundation seeks to bring public awareness to the severity of GBM brain tumors and to raise the funds needed to sponsor the most promising research to ultimately find a cure.
Our mission is to support innovative research that focuses on improving survival rates and ultimately finding a cure for Glioblastoma (GBM) brain tumors.
