Sandra Frankel is a fine artist with a BFA in drawing and painting from Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
Sandra paints and draws from life, expressing her unique response to her life and surroundings.
Raised in Malibu in a very rustic beach house, the beauty of the natural world with its ever-changing shoreline,
tide pools, and vivid sunsets has had a lasting impact on Sandra's art and inspiration.
Determined to be an artist from a young age, she showed an early passion for portraiture and filled a portfolio with
self portraits, as well as portraits of family, friends and dogs. She also painted the beautiful Malibu coast.
Before attending art school, Sandra studied printmaking with acclaimed printmaker Mariccio Barattucci.
Her print, Players in the Game, was purchased by the Tweed Museum in Duluth, Minnesota for the museum's permanent collection.
After art school, Sandra continued her art education, studying portrait and figure painting with Suzanne Bothwell at UCLA.
In addition to selling her work, Sandra welcomes commissioned work, including portraiture, paintings of
flower bouquets, and any other commissioned work that fulfills the imagination of the collector.
During the past year Sandra has taught painting, both privately and on Zoom at Paint Lab in Santa Monica.
In addition to painting, Sandra is passionate about pruning roses, cooking, baking, photography, and flower arranging!
She lives in Santa Monica with her husband and son.
