I am a watercolor landscape, still life and wildlife artist. I paint numerous miniatures plein air to familiarize myself with the subject matter and the effects of the quickly changing light. I do larger and more involved paintings in my studio that are well designed and are composed of the elements of depth, volume, light and atmosphere.

Forty years ago a NC state fair I acquired my first piece of original art--a stunning watercolor of a hay rake entitled "The Glory Seat". And I met the young artist, Robert Flowers, whose painting has given me profound joy for many years. The light, the detail, the subtle hues are, well, glorious. I was glad to see he is still at work.
