Inspired by walking in the woods of Ontario and beyond, Milon's mixed-media works on paper recall the visceral, tactile memory of being in nature. She approaches the mystery of the land by exploring its textures, colours and layers. Her marks are intentionally spare, giving viewers an opportunity to reflect on their own personal relationship to the natural environment.
Influenced by the Haliburton landscape, where she has a summer studio in the woods, her abstract work alludes to the rigidity of stone, the sponginess of moss and the tenacity of lichen. In the winter she resides, works and exhibits in Toronto.
