Light makes photography possible. My latest work makes light the subject of the work rather than just the tool that makes it possible. These images capture man-made light holding darkness at bay. When shooting, I use a combination of modern digital equipment and vintage film cameras from my collection. Photographs rarely show a scene as you remember it; all of my images are manipulated and enhanced to recapture the image as I recall it. These are photographs of happy moments: a meal with loved ones in a vintage diner; fireworks on a summer’s evening; reflections bouncing from favourite buildings.
