I am an artist who loves to explore the layering of textures and gestural line found in nature. My recent works are an abstract expressionistic exploration inspired by recent isolated experiences of gardening and going for long walks along rocky beaches and fields of wild flowers. These experiences have brought a new found healing through the energy and grounding of natural beauty. From making intuitive spontaneous mark making, where there is an interplay between accident and intension, gestural organic forms and shapes emerge. Layered textures of mixed media: graphite, art markers, pencils, digital painting, image scans, acrylic paint printed on gylcée archival paper combine to create a complex energenic landscape. Inspired by both conscious and unconscious motivations they are an expression of personal past grief and loss that is emerging into a rhythmical and vulnerable landscape of healing.
