I am a visual artist and teacher, who works with acrylic paints, inks, graphite and oil sticks, to create abstract expressionist paintings in my home studio. I have been a member of Great Falls Studios since 2004 and this will be my 15th consecutive Studio Tours with GFS. The landscape series I started this year was inspired by local forests, and the sensations I experience walking through them. To me, there is an emotional intensity brought on by the freedom of being outdoors, the beauty of mother nature, and my own internal struggles with the dangers posed by other people walking near me in the forest. My newest series “Permanent Green” reflects on the compelling juxtaposition of the bright emerald green foliage we had this past Spring with the holding pattern we are in due to COVID-19. I have some paintings from this series, as well as other nature inspired paintings for sale.
