The Hoggetowne Medieval Faire is an annual outdoor medieval themed festival with a variety of medieval merchants, performers and demonstration groups. To turn this outdoor event into a virtual event, we found some creative ways to use the various tools Eventeny has to offer. We used the schedule to list all the performances (separating into various stages) and color coded them in our event colors to draw attention to performance that were occurring live through Zoom. Some of the live performances were interactive during which the audience either took turns speaking (we did this for our Royal Court) or typed in the Zoom chat to make suggestions or comments based on prompts from the performers. For our highlights, we featured two activities offered by participating groups: the Kings Quest clue game and the SCA Craft Village. The Kings Quest offered an interactive game where guest would discover various clues throughout a series of videos (the videos were set up as items on their vendor page), track their discoveries on a game card (that could be downloaded by clicking a QR code which was also on their vendor page) and then submit their answers once they had solved the mystery. The Craft Village was a Zoom event with multiple medieval demonstrations occurring at the same time and guests could speak with any of the demonstrators.
