We have many opportunities for you or your group to volunteer before, during and after the Fair. Please let us know what areas you are interested in by completing this application and we will contact you. Note that when you click on "department types" it says "preference 1, 2, etc". If you are interested in volunteering in many areas but are unsure where, do not worry about the preference ranking. Shift selection is just for us to get a general idea of your availability. You are not locked into any positions or shifts by completing this application. This year in particular we are looking for 2 people to help us enter Mill artisan products into our online store (September, from home) and for Artisan Helpers, 9/30-10/3: set up, runners, booth sitters, break down. It truly does take a village to have the Fair run smoothly year after year!

Volunteer positions are a minimum of 4 hours. As a volunteer you will be able to enjoy the Fair at no charge on the day you volunteer or if you volunteer beforehand, you will receive an entrance token that can be used on any day. Most of our volunteer positions require volunteers to be over 16 years of age, except for the Wine & Beer area for which the minimum age is 21 and you will be required to show your id when you arrive for your shift. We will be following the CDC's and Commonwealth of Virginia's Covid-19 guidelines and all volunteers will be required to do so as well. Expectations will be addressed as we get closer to the Fair. As an ambassador for the Foundation, welcoming visitors to Waterford, please follow the golden rule and treat fairgoers, residents, staff and other volunteers as you would wish to be treated. Be polite, helpful and if you are unable to assist someone find someone who can (e.g., your supervisor, information booth, sheriff's deputy, EMs, staff, etc.). Waterford is a historic village and many of the properties are not accessible by wheel chair. If you have any special needs we should be made aware of regarding the projects you are volunteering for, please add a note in the application. Dress: business casual dress/casual dress is fine. Please dress for the weather but do not wear shorts or ripped shirts. Comfortable walking shoes are a must. Volunteers must have their own transportation to and from their shift(s).
